Groovy date problem - revisited
Hey people :)
Remember I had a problem with my system clock not updating properly?
Well, have a look at this - the problem seems to have grown and mutated
slightly:
[root@neptune /root]# cat /var/log/messages | grep set_rtc_mmss
Jan 7 14:20:38 neptune kernel: set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 2 to 50
Jan 7 14:21:39 neptune kernel: set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 3 to 51
Jan 7 14:22:40 neptune kernel: set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 4 to 52
Jan 7 14:23:41 neptune kernel: set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 5 to 53
Jan 7 14:24:42 neptune kernel: set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 6 to 54
Jan 7 14:25:43 neptune kernel: set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 7 to 55
Jan 7 14:26:44 neptune kernel: set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 8 to 56
Jan 7 14:27:45 neptune kernel: set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 9 to 57
Jan 7 14:28:46 neptune kernel: set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 10 to 58
Jan 7 14:29:47 neptune kernel: set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 11 to 59
[root@neptune /root]#
Anyone have any thoughts?
Most interesting is the times it occurs - 20:38, 21:39, 22:40 etc..
anyone ever seen anything like this before?
I'm running:
[root@neptune /root]# uname -a
Linux neptune.bhwb.local 2.2.5-22 #1 Wed Jun 2 09:17:03 EDT 1999 i686 \
unknown
.. which is basically a standard RH6.0 installation.
The clock on this machine seems to be slowly slipping backwards - every
few days I'm having to reset it.
Freaky!
