I'm much the same - sometimes a little heavy on the delete key as I
plow through mail..... anyway...

For that much data, I'd have to agree, but for backing small amounts
of textural data, using an (ack!) MS-DOS floppy isn't a bad idea. I just
recently had to back up key files for Thawte Certificates, and since
these are basically text files and take up very little disk space. By
saving the data to an MS-DOS formatted floppy, it ensures that I can
access the files using darn near any computer operating system (Linux,
Win9x, Macintosh, Commodore, etc). About the only problem would be
carriage return/end of line formatting and there are plenty of
utilities around to handle the job.

Cheers,
Gaelyne
