That would be in base 20 2/3.  In base 10 the number is 127.

Keyboards were confused over the "backspace" key well before Microsoft had
much influence on the matter.  Many had a key labelled "backspace" but
which actually emitted a DEL.  (I thought that the VT100 was one such
keyboard but I might easily have mis-remembered.)


I don't know what David's problem is, and I assume he did describe the
problem accurately.  I assume the problem is generalised, and not some new
application that he just started using which exhibits this problem.  I'd
guess maybe keyboard map?  It's a loadable resource.
