Linux/Apache problem
Hi All.
I'm running Apache 1.3.6 on a SuSE 6.2 box and am currently trying to
develop some web-based database apps using CGI/PERL scripts.
I need to be able to set up Apache so that I can run CGI/PERL scripts from
locations other than the cgi-bin directory....but am having huge troubles
trying to achieve this.
I would like to, say, create a "scripts" directory within a user's HTML
directory so that the script could be referenced as such:
http://suse.linux.box/~username/scripts/cgi-script.cgi
I have followed some instructions on the web for trying to achieve this, but
to no avail....I either set it up one way and get "Internal Server Error"
message...so the script isn't executing properly....or I also can get
"Unauthorised Access" messages.
I have tried putting a <Directory> entry in the httpd.conf giving all users
read/exec permissions to the /home/username/public_html/scripts directory
and have included the "ExecCGI" option as well...but it still doesn't work !
Can anyone help with this.......? Please.......
Cheers,
Kristian.
