NFS and NIS problems under RedHat 6.0
Hi All.
I'm having great difficulties in getting NFS exporting/mounting to work
properly under RedHat 6.0, but had no difficulties with 5.2 or with IRIX.
I have created /etc/netgroup and added all of the machines that are part of
that domain. Then in /etc/exports I have exported a directory as such:
/home @serf
...where 'serf' is my netgroup. I then do an 'exportfs -a' on the server and
I have made sure that the NFS daemon is running on both server and client
machines. However, whenever I then try to mount that directory, I get a
"Permission denied" error...and have even received an RPC error now and
again !
I want to be able to get this working properly before I set up NIS.
Any suggestions...?
Cheers,
Kristian.
