Compaq 1600R - Network Probs.
Hi,
Im trying to do a network boot disk install of RedHat 6.0 on a Compaq
Proliant 1600R(ackmount).
I get as far as trying to send a DHCP request, but alas no reply is
received.
The setup correctly says that a Compaq Netelligent adaper is found but
looking at the lights on the adapter, no link or activity.
However after a while the base 100 light comes on which probably means
the module has switched it into 100MB mode, but still no link or
activity lights. Unfortunately I have no 100MB hubs/switches around :(
I have tested all cables, hub connections - the server was running NT
fine a few minutes beforehand .... not any more, hehe :)
I know I could just whack in my good'ol 3c509 and get it going but I am
curious as to why this doesn't work.
If I switch to expert mode in the setup I can supply extra parameters to
the module - anybody know any good module parameters to try?
I would like to get this going as it has a RAID controller with 52Gig of
disk ... Mmmmm....
TIA,
Jamz.
