Feel thankful that you have that many newsgroups to choose from.  One of my
ISP's has tackled the porn etc. problem by limiting his newsgroups to a
meagre few hundred....an instance where rathger than filter out, only allow
those specified.  At this stage we have a few hundred newsgroups ... that's
it.  I myself am not keen on open slather access to porn, violence etc. but
see that filtering will inevitably lead to other subsidiary problems.  How
much we respond in voice and action will be the biggest factor in our 'net
futures.  *sigh*  

The weakest link in any given situation is people and personal opinion!
