Internet Connection Problems

 Hi guys,
I'm having a few problems connecting my linux machine to the
net. After recently installing RedHat 6 I worked my way through the
various guides, FAQs and HOWTOs and managed to get ppp working so that I
can connect to my ISP. However I am only able to do this from the root
account and I would rather not use root whenever I want to get online. I
have tried to connect from my user account but I recieve the message
'pppd is not properly installed! The ppd binary must be installed with
the SUID bit set.' How do I achieve this? I'm connecting in X using
Kppp.

One a side note, how do I change the permissions to allow my user
account to mount my externals?

Thanks,
Marcus Zozuk
