Redhat 6.0 does it too, do a rm -rf of /lib/modules/2.2.x then make
modules_install in the /usr/src/linux to fix it.
Happens to me when i use their own source, and make the same kernel, but I
always remove all the modules.
Upgrading to the next kernel make a new /lib/modules/2.2.x directory, and
has the same effect as the rm -rf
