One way of find the information out accurately and for yourself is to 
ask geeks/nerds you happen to know -- Primary source research 'n' all
that. 

I mean, seriously, how likely is it that you'll find a definition of
"geek" in a library book which encompasses the nuances that geeks 
mean when they use the term?
