Dhcp seems to be assigning me a default IP address. I should expect
something like: 24.192.10.46 (which is the IP I am assigned when I boot
under windows)

One thought may have been asked prevoulsy is it always the same ip in
windows ? I thought cable modems form telstra used static ips (i may be
wrong.)

If so why use a DHCP client ?
