I do bealive there is a service, its called MOLDS(modem online diagnostic
service)
its very simular to the FOLDS which is fax online diagnostic service


you ring a special number with your modem and stay online for 1 minute while
the molds service is collecting line data etc.
then you ring during business hours to get the results faxed to you

you cant just dial into it, you must first arange with telstra at St Marys
Excahnge in adelaide

as i think it is set to only reseave calls from cirtian phone numbers

(we used it when telstra screwed up our lines, on a catagory 2 fault)
