I don't know what this "kde-installer" is doing, but the real problem
(IMHO!) is that he/she should not be trying to install red hat KDE
packages on a debian system when debian packages are available.
Debian KDE packages can be found at http://snowcrash.tdyc.com/
It sounds like this person is switching to red hat, though.
