Re: installing rpm file to DEbian system

According to the man page for alien, the syntax:

 alien [--to-deb] [--patch=file] [options] file [...]
 
should do what you are asking. However, it won't create the
post-install script. Does anyone know what the kde-installer is
attempting to do?  Maybe its a shell script in which case you could
examine it and finish the install manually.
