Banner adverts cont.

hello all,

when in windows i use a hosts file to stop banner ads,( \windows\hosts )
it looks like this;

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

127.0.0.1       image.excite.com                # no ads from excite
127.0.0.1       image.eimg.com                  # used by webcrawler...
127.0.0.1       adforce.imgis.com               # used by mamma
127.0.0.1       promotions.yahoo.com        # yahoo...
127.0.0.1       ads.lycos.com                   # lycos, whowhere
127.0.0.1       ad.doubleclick.net              # altavista

etc...

how can i do this in linux?


if anyone wants to use/view the hosts file,
