Having just gone through this again on my PC, I found to use 3 button
mouse, the standard 3 button serial mouse doesn't work for my 3 button
Genius mouse. I had to go down the list a fair way, towards the bottom
there is another standard serial mouse listd (can't remember the entry) it
doesn't list 3 buttons, but that works. RH6 doesn't need the entery
coppied into Xfree86config, but RH5.2 does.

I found the Mouse Howto of really great assistance here.
