We are running realtek 100Mb cards in our linux boxes, We have found that
they are very reliable as long as you don't knock the box or remove the lead
from the hub or nic. We have also found that they don't like some 10Mb
hubs. As too packet loss, non existent as far as I can tell (for us). I
realise this probably doesn't help, but there you go!!!
