Redhat 6.0, Stock Kernels & SMBFS - Warning!

These are extracts from the linux-kernel mailing list

----------------
From: Michael H. Warfield <mhw@wittsend.com>
(maintainer of smbmount in the Samba package)

Synopsis:

Do NOT use the stock RedHat kernels from RedHat 6.0 if
you are using SMBFS with Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows 98.
These kernels were incorrectly compiled with a configuration
option, the Windows 95 bug workaround, that will cause corruption
of timestamp information on shares mounted from any of those other
systems.

---------------
From: From: Bernhard Rosenkraenzer <bero@mandrakesoft.com>
We have had a look at the problem and noticed Mandrake 6.0 is affected,
too. We've made fixed kernel RPMs available. They'll be available at

ftp://sunsite.uio.no/pub/linux/Mandrake/updates/6.0/kernel*25mdk.i586.rpm
and all other mirrors shortly (presently uploading).

Cheers,
