Glint troubles

Hi all
been using linux for a few months now but I have suddenly started haveing
problems with Glint. Does any one use this or should I be using just
console base RPM 
I am using redhat 5.2 and the problem with glint is that when I go to view
avaliable packages on the cd, glint just crashes and disappears.
I have mounted the cd and the path to thr rpms is correct. should I try to
reinstall glint and if so where can i get a newer version (if avaliable)
any help welcome
