This was almost it, try the setting start with blank page otherwise
Netscape will still request from the NET which is probably what is hanging
the beasty up.
Also check for a setting under smart browsing "Whats related" or similar
this can also cause this, especially if you browse a page on you disk that
has a URL embedded in it.
