YMF719 OPL3-SAx

I have the sound card above..... i compiled a 2.2.6 kernel for it
At boot, the card is recognized ..=20
[ OPL3-SAx (YMF719) detected ]
i look at /dev/sndstat/
in the audio devices and synth devices...nothing appears....
anyone have experience with these cards..?
i read the kernel docs on the OPL-SA cards...it only talked about =
keeping them as modules...
