COT: (completely off topic) ... (or is it ?)

My old mate Nick Petreley from http://www.infoworld.com fame as a new forum
topic that hit a raw nerve with me ...

He normally has something very excellent and entertaining to write about
Linux / Windows / etc, etc.

However, this week he has managed to introduce a particular topic into the
usual Linux debate that really makes my skin crawl .. not only because the
entire subject is like fingernails on a blackboard for me, but also because
I have come to realise the Nick himself is now under control of the
conspirators - 

Yes, I am talking about the Ally McBeal meme.
