Disk dumping with unidentical disks.]

Hi,

I have a disk with 1GB hard disk out of which
230MB is filled. I have another machine
witha 440MB hard disk. The operating system,
application software et al., requirement in both the
 machines are the same.

So Instead of going thru' the routine of installing from
the scratch, I want to dump the whole image of the first hard
 disk on to the second.

But If I do a dd, it says that there is no disk space free.

Is there a method, by which I can dump the image between two
 unidentical hard disks ??

Thanks,
Sai
