Adelaide Wireless Network

Hi,

Recently, some members of the Canberra Linux Users Group decided to setup
a local Wireless WAN. This was in part made possible by the support of a
company called Integrity Data, who supply various Direct Sequence Spread
Spectrum equipment, and consulting.

Integrity Data is willing to supply a number of used full lengh ISA
WaveLAN cards to Linux User Group members, for hobby pourposes. I am sure
arrangements can be made for other groups.

The Canberra Wireless Network is growing as time goes on. After reading
about what they are doing there, and having some interest in bandwidth
distribution (not nessarily the Internet), I have taken it upon myself to
help organize an Adelaide chapter of the network.

The home page for the Canberra Network is at http://www.air.net.au/. The
manager of this site, at my request, has passed management of the
subdomain adelaide.air.net.au to me, to help organize the Adelaide effort.
By the time most of you read this, the Adelaide pages will be setup at
http://www.adelaide.air.net.au/.

If any of you are intersted in such a project, please feel free to contact
me.

This project is not intended to supply access to the internet, even though
the network may be connected to the Internet at various points. The
network will not be intended for commercial use. The network will be for
resource sharing, and to help expand knowledge about Wide Area Networking.
