i've setup a number of thses with windows 95/NT. you have to run the
setup program on the disk that came with the modem. in windows you
reconfig the modem. can you reconfig the modem in windows (you have to
tick the use both channels switch) and then switch it to linux? just a
suggestion...

i have a contact at 3com, a techo who is in melbourne, (i'm in sydney)
who may help and i'll email you his number next week when i'm back at
the site i've been using these modems. either that or you could ring
3com in melbourne and see if someone there may help.
