We have users that live within the local call area of Mount Gambier (pop
35,000)
that can't connect faster than 9600 and about 2 or 3 that can't get any
faster than 1200. we tested their modems and everything, except the line.
Everything was fine!
Telstra said that they wouldn't upgrade the area because it had less than a
certain number of people in it! Speaking of Telstra, you guys in the city
have it so lucky!
we have phone bill just for a isdn line from Mount Gambier to Adelaide is
over $3000 a month (64k) (NO Data) That is damn expensive!
This isn't even the outback!
