well thats funny. i am running named, but there was no traffic to any
root name servers. only a bit of local stuff. so i quit navigator and
email and all apps and the lights have stopped. start up navigator and
email again and nothing - no lights. all completely stopped.
must have been something of a bug in netscape. thanks for the quick
reply and a new trick i can use to see what's going on.
