Netatalk

Hello,
I have been trying to set up Netatalk on my linux box.  
When i open chooser on the Mac, the machine name of the linux box appears there. However,
when i try to open it, (after a long delay) it brings up a message that says the machine 
cannot be found.
Any ideas?
