Try putting the latest kernel on your machine. That helps out heaps with PnP
cards.

I am having trouble configuring my sound blaster 16 pnp sound card. When I
run sndconfig it detects the card fine,but when the sample sound plays I get
the error unable to open /dev/mix. Does anyone know what the problem is.
Also when I manually set the card with sndconfig to the correct settings I
get the same error message.
