X-Windows Problems
To whoever can help me,
I am a new linux user and I am having trouble getting X-windows to work.
I have Redhat 4.2.
I install linux sucessfully, and I log in as root. I run "Xconfigurator"
and set up my video card and monitor settings. My monitor isnt listed, so I
have tried the generic, and custom options.
I then run "startx" and it starts loading and then an error comes up: no
screens found
I have tried various video (S3, SVGA) and monitor settings and i still cant
get it to work.
Video card: S3 TrioUV+ (1 Mb memory)
Monitor: 14" KTX TopScan SVGA
Would getting RedHat 5.2 fix the problem?
To whoever replies to this: I would prefer if you basically spell out what
I should do because I have been a windows user, and I am just currently
getting into Linux.
Thanks for your help
