I dunno. If you are using X, it isn't such a good idea to leave
numlock on, as a lot of the older programs will fail to function
properly if it is set. (Can anyone explain why this is, and also
how to fix it?)

Compile PPA support into the kernel (if it is parallel port). You will
find this under SCSI options. There are options for SCSI, PPA, and
another parallel port Zip (not sure what it does - I use PPA). When
done, the zip drive _should_ be /dev/sda4.
I believe there is a HOWTO packaged with RedHat too - so there
is prolly a howto on the web somewhere about the Zip drive.
