RE: Cyrix 6x86 chip
Sam,
I have 2 686's running Linux happily. They are both later ones though (686PR200MX) but they work fine with all slakware versions that I have installed so far (kernels 1.2, 1.3 and 2.0.35).

Subject: Cyrix 6x86 chip
Hi all.
I have been trying to install Linux (in this case Redhat 5.1) on a
Cyrix 6x86 but the installation program won't run. It just exits saying
something along the lines of "can't do, Cyrix"
Anyone know a way around, as I thought that the Cyrix was compatible
with Intel/AMD devices?
Thanks in advance,
Sam Silvester.
