linux software

i'm sorry my question not briefly

Where I can get linux software freely? like staroffice,gnat(ada compiler)
In CD?

A few days ago I installed RH5.1, but there was error in gcc. It said that
there was  no such file crt1.o when I called stdio.h. How it can be?
