socks proxy
Hi,
I've been looking for a socks proxy, to try to run ICQ through. I looked at
linuxberg.com, and there's only one listed, the Dante socks server. I
downloaded the binary RPMs avalible from their FTP site, and installed them
on my machine (running RedHat 5.2).
Unfortunatly, I could not get a working config file, so when i do a
"/etc/rc.d/init/dsockd start", it complains about parse errors in the config
file, or if I comment everything out, it complains that the localdomain is
not set.
The example config file has the following line for the localdomain:
#we need to let the server know what our localdomain is
#localdomain: x.y
so, I tried the following:
localdomain: 10.0.1.
localdomain: 10.0.1.0/24
localdomain: 10.0.1.0/255.255.255.0
localdomain: ozemail.com.au
localdomain: 10.0.1.0/24;
but none worked. Does anyone know what the syntax is, or another server I
could use? The socks server will be on a company's machine, so that may
restrict what servers I'm allowed to use :(
thanks,
Andy
