el cheapo scanner

Linux scanner experts and others:

Can you tell me what kind of scanner a Dick Smith marketed
Dexxa 4800 is similar to?

The guy in the shop said mustek, but they seem to be mostly SCSI.

I'm trying to get the "sane" scanner sofware going on a linux box.
The list of man5-manuals for sane are:

sane-abaton.5 sane-dmc.5 sane-mustek.5 sane-scsi.5
sane-agfafocus.5 sane-epson.5 sane-net.5 sane-umax.5
sane-apple.5 sane-hp.5 sane-pint.5
sane-dc25.5 sane-microtek.5 sane-pnm.5
sane-dll.5 sane-microtek2.5 sane-qcam.5

So I'm trying to make a choice of which one of these
is the best bet as a "back-end" for the scanimage program.

If the dexxa 4800 is beyond hope, could anyone please
(preferably not to the full list) advise me as to a better
scanner for linux purposes.
I still want to stick with el cheapo parallel port scanners right now.

Cheers,
Alan Kennington.
