Re: Configuring X Windows for S3 Virge GX2 AGP

Regarding the S3 card...
I have a S3 Virge MX card and I get a similar result, except that I have
several miniture screens displayed at once. The interesting thing is that if
I use a different monitor, I get a completely different result: This time
the screen is semi-legible, but is distorted. I have a Viewsonic (yes,
Viewsonic!) 15 monitor, and the other one was the laptop's inbuilt one.
I am not sure but maybe the problem could be with the
horizontal/vertical refresh rates. Have you tried setting them both to very
conservative settings and maybe running in 640 x 480 mode? It could be that
your monitor cannot display whatever you have set.
Hope this helps.
Sam.
