Configuring X Windows for S3 Virge GX2 AGP
Has anybody been able to configure X Windows to run successfully on an
S3 Virge GX2 AGP video card?
I am using Red Hat 5.1 (Manhattan). The card is a "no-name" (Genesis),
have tried the generic S3 Virge GX2 entry from the card database (296 I
think) and just about every conceivable combination of SDAC etc.
The closest I have come is two images of the desktop side-by-side on the
screen, which suggests a scan problem. My monitor is a Viewsonic 17GA
with 4mb.
Red Hat's response to the problem is "your card is not supported"!!
Any help will really be appreciated.
Regards
Tim Jones
