The subject seems to have moved to 10Base-T / RJ-45 pinouts
the following colours are AT&T standard
its the pairs & polarity that are critical though
pin normal crossover
1 wh/or wh/grn
2 or grn
3 wh/grn wh/or
4 blu blu
5 wh/blu wh/blu
6 grn or
7 wh/br wh/br
8 br br
a normal cable (pc-hub, wall-pc, wall-hub, wall-wall)
is normal both ends
a crossover cable (pc-pc, hub-hub)
is normal one end crossover the other
note: some cables the white is not marked with the colour
so you need to strip them carefully to preserve the pairs
which will be lightly twisted together. Also try and keep
pairs twisted as close to the connector as possible.
