Modem

I think I've got ppp finally set up, but my modem won't work. Is there an
easy way to configure it, or is there a HOWTO about it (I couldn't find
one).

It's a Spirit Viper, internal, 28.8k, and in Win95 it works like a breeze.
On querying the modem in Win95 it returns the following readings:

Identifier MDMGEN 288
ATI 1 239
ATI 2 OK
ATI 3 V1.200-V34-DP
ATI 4 AT-2814PCM Australia June/22/1995
ATI 5 022
ATI 6 RC288DPi Rev 05BA
ATI 7 000
AT+FCLASS=? 0,1,2

If I query the modem in kppp under KDE (running COL 1.3), I don't get any
values at all in the ATIs... I don't have the faintest about modems and what
the ATI are supposed to stand for.

Please help

Andy
