RedHat is definetely your best choice if you're a newbie, and the
documents that come with the RH boxed set should get you on the right
track. If that's not enough, download and print the Installation and
Getting Started Guide, which is part of the Linux Documentation Project,
and can be found at http://sunsite.unc.edu/LDP.
