Is RH5.2 corrupting files?

Hi all
Here's a weird problem i've been having ever since I installed my linux box
as my internet gateway at home... i've found that EXE files that are WinZip
self-extractors ALWAYS fail to run, however I can drag the exe file into a
winzip box and extract all the files from it that way.
Anyone else had this problem?
