serial port communications

Hia,

This is probably a RTFM question, but I just can't seem to find it.

Anyone here know how to set a virtual screen to the input/output of a
serial port?
I don't want to use minicom but if I must, I have to change the term
type from vt102 or ansi ( I can't use either in this application).

Ideally I would like to have it so that I switch virtual terminals to
the serial port i.e.
ALT-F1 = vc0, ALT-F2 = vc1, ALT-F3 = ttyS1.

The serial port is connected via a null modem cable to a terminal server
and onto a DEC Alpha. Nothing is unusual, just a run of the mill RS-232
connection @ 19200 8n1.

Thanks in advance,

Dave M.
