Just as far as the MIDI cable pinouts go, I am pretty sure I used to have a
diagram showing which pins go where.
The MIDI electronics is ALL in the soundcard - all the midi cable does is
convert the plug type really.
If you search the web you might be able to get the diagram from somewhere.
I'll look over my harddrive myself today, but I've got to get to uni in 5
minutes, so I can't right now.
