A fool proof Video Card please
My situation currently is that I have 2 VESA video cards at the
moment, none of which I've had any luck with configuring X for. One
of them is a Diamond Stealth 64 DRAM card, which does actually
configure, but it gets "grainy" after a while to the extent that you
can't read the text (you know it's there, it's simply illegible).
It's not much fun...
The other VESA video card is an S3 86C805 with GENDAC (whatever that
is?) and simply crashes the system. I've tried a few card
configurations, but can't get it to do anything, but crash my system).
I'm getting a little frustrated and wish to extend a plea to members
of LinuxSA (preferably in the metro area of Adelaide).
Does anyone have a spare ISA video card lying about (1Mb or 2Mb) that
they know works and is realtively simple to configure for X? (When I
say simple, I mean that it sets itself up by using the Xconfigurator -
I'm pretty new).
If you do, please contact me direct.
Thanks
