As far as I know, the file kcore in the /proc directory is not a file
at all, just a simple kernel representation of the memory in your
system - look at the size of it and you should see that it is the
same size as the memory in your machine, give or take a little.
You needn't worry, as the file does not actually take up any space
on the drive because it doesn't really exist.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but this kcore file shouldn't be
the cause of any funny problems with your system. Perhaps describing
the problem would enable the list to help you solve the "screwy
things".
