3D cards

(1) Can linux {Redhat} use 3d cards effectly?

(2) I dont think I saw the 3d card drivers in the setup, so how hard is it,
if at all, to configure it.
      I know hardness is a relative term so you may need to provide
endpoints ie its easier than
      configuring a weird sound card but harder than mounting a Cd.
